Conservatives that still have a tinge of a functioning social conscious left have for years now tried to comfort themselves with, and tried to sell us all on the idea that, the GOP in power won’t end abortion access/medicare/social security/etc. Trouble is that the party that they are clinging to continues to slide further and further to a reactionary fundamentalist Right. 

Ryan is planning to shift us out of Medicare. And many conservatives are slowly waking up to this. And they are getting uncomfortable, seeing their own safety at risk. Also, conservatives get more and more brazen in trying to limit “legitimate” abortion access. I can only hope conservatives with some common sense can wake up to this reality before November.

If you are concerned for women, the elderly, and the poor, the GOP leadership is not. They have moved to more directly act against the social safety net and our rights.
